
Three minors and one adult were hospitalized after being shot early on Monday morning, in Buena Park.
The victims were found at about 2:30 a.m., in the area of Commonwealth Avenue and Beach Boulevard, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
The OCFA first responders found the victims at the scene inside a white, four-door sedan. Several windows of the car appeared to have been shattered by bullets.
The victims were taken to a local hospital, according to the OCFA. They were all listed in stable condition.
Police investigators have not yet identified a possible motive for the shooting. Nor did the police reveal a description of the suspect, or suspects.

If suspects are identified and arrested in connection with the Buena Park shooting, they could face the following penalties under California law, depending on the circumstances and charges filed:

- Felony offense
- Up to life in prison with the possibility of parole
- Sentence enhancements if the crime involved minors or was gang-related
- Assault with a Firearm (Penal Code § 245(a)(2))

- Additional penalties if the firearm was semiautomatic or assault-type
- Shooting at an Occupied Vehicle (Penal Code § 246)

- 3 to 7 years in state prison
- Sentence enhancements if great bodily injury occurred
- Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony (Penal Code § 12022.53)
- Mandatory sentence enhancements:
- 10 years for using a firearm
- 20 years for firing a firearm
- 25 years to life if great bodily injury or death results
- Mandatory sentence enhancements:
- Gang Enhancement (Penal Code § 186.22)
- If the crime is gang-related, additional 2 to 15 years may be added to the sentence
- Child Endangerment (Penal Code § 273a)
- Felony or misdemeanor depending on intent and harm
- Up to 6 years in state prison if charged as a felony
Final charges and penalties would depend on the outcome of the investigation, the suspects’ criminal history, and prosecutorial discretion.
