Jeff Kellogg, former Long Beach Vice Mayor and Long Beach City College Trustee, announced his endorsement of City Councilwoman Suzie Price for Long Beach City Mayor.

The endorsement comes on the heels of Price earning the endorsements of the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 47, California State Controller Betty Yee, State Senator Tom Umberg, and Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell. Price recently reported raising $400,000 in just twelve weeks, highlighting the strength and enthusiasm in her broad coalition of support.

“I am proud to endorse Suzie Price for Mayor of the City of Long Beach,” says Kellogg. “As someone with deep roots and a history of public service in the city, I feel she is the best candidate for this position. Suzie exemplifies true public service. It’s never about politics for her or falling in line with a group mentality. She studies each issue on its own merits and always lands on the side that is in the best interest of the public at large. She is fiscally prudent and takes great care to make her service about the city and its people. It’s time to focus on common sense policies that bring our city together as opposed to big time politics that divide us.”

Jeff Kellogg has specialized in educational and facility master planning and state reporting and accreditation compliance for California community colleges over the past 15 years. Jeff is a lifelong resident of Long Beach, and, following his days as a student at Long Beach Community College (LBCC), attended the University of Oregon, earning his Bachelors of Science degree. As former Vice Mayor, a three term councilmember for Long Beach’s 8th District, LBCC Trustee, and LBCC Alumni Hall of Fame inductee, Kellogg remains an active member of the Long Beach community.

“I’m honored to have former Vice Mayor Jeff Kellogg’s support in this race,” says Price. “Jeff has had a lifelong, deep commitment to our city. As someone who has seen many elected officials come and go in this city, he knows and appreciates the difference between service and politics. I am grateful that he sees in me the qualities we need in our next mayor.”
