Five suspects arrested after trying to open car doors in Huntington Beach

Over the weekend, a vigilant resident called the police about suspicious activity near Manning Park—people checking car door handles, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

The police officers arrived and contacted five individuals inside a car with expired registration (red flag #1). One of them was even drinking an alcoholic beverage (red flag #2).

As the police started their investigation, the subjects decided to take off and run. It didn’t take long before all five were right back where they started.

During the search, one of them was carrying a loaded, un-serialized, fully automatic ghost gun (with a high-capacity magazine), while two others had brass knuckles.

In the end, all five were arrested for resisting officers, carrying illegal weapons, and a list of other charges.

The HBPD thanks the resident who reported the suspicious activity!
