Santa Ana – Dispatchers at the OCFA’s emergency command center received multiple calls for a fire in the 4000 block of W. Kent Ave. on Saturday at 3:33 PM.

Engine 78 was the first-in unit and reported heavy smoke coming from a single story house, and upgraded the call to a working structure fire.

The responding firefighters initiated an attack on the fire and a search of the home to confirm everyone had made it out.

Fortunately, the residents had made it out.

The residents were treated by the OCFA firefighter paramedics and transported to the hospital for further care.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Assistance was provided by Fountain Valley Fire and the Santa Ana Police Department.

A Facebook comment by Frank Muniz, about the fire, was illuminating “Thank you firefighters that put out this fire. That was my parents neighbor house that was on fire . These guys did an amazing job putting out the fire and saving my parents house . I’m forever grateful for these guys . I can’t say the same for Santa pd. , they where d***cks to me when I arrived on scene to check on my elderly father that was hosing down our family home, even trying to intimidate me. Specially some short cop with a stupid looking mustache.”
