Villa Park took on Pacifica in the third place game of the tournament Wednesday. (PHOTO: Tim Burt, OC Sports Zone).
Woodbridge High School’s baseball team defeated San Dimas 8-4 Wednesday night at the Great Park Stadium to capture the championship of the 2025 Ryan Lemmon Invitational.
Vincent DeMarco of Woodbridge was named tournament MVP.
The 19-team tournament was presented by Guy Lemmon’s Ryan Lemmon Foundation. Dick Owens of the foundation was the tournament director.
Eric Spivey capably handled the public address duties at the stadium games and volunteers helped at the gates.
Wednesday’s finals:
El Modena 3, Viewmont 2
Canyon 7, Woods Cross 2
Fullerton 6, Irvine 3: The Indians won their fourth game in five days, finishing the tournament 3-1. Zach Fany was 4 for 4 with two runs scored, two RBI, a triple and two stolen bases, Malachi Meni was 1 for 4 with two RBI, a run scored and a stolen base, Mason Park was 1 for 1 with two walks and two stolen bases. Caden Wise pitched five shutout innings, striking out four and allowing four hits.
Foothill 7, Northwood 1: Adam Ujiie pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing three hits, an earned run and struck out four for the Knights. Gary Wright pitched two innings, allowing one hit and striking out one and Kyle Tetson pitched 1 1/3 innings, allowing two hits and striking out one. Evrett Roycroft was 1 for 3 with a home run, run scored and two RBI, Ezekiel Vargas was 2 for 4 with two runs scored, a triple and a walk, Sean Green was 2 for 4 with a double, run scored and an RBI and Evan Kim had an RBI, walked three times and scored a run for Foothill.

Laguna Beach 3, La Serna 2
Crean Lutheran 6, Tustin 0: The Saints (11-5) were led by Blake Armstrong, who pitched a complete game shutout, allowing five hits and striking out nine. Dylan Maez was 2 for 2 with a double, RBI and two stolen bases and Ian McDermott was 1 for 3 with two RBI.
Crean Lutheran is back in action Saturday at 11 a.m. at Pacifica to wrap up the first round of league play.
