Female motorcyclist dies from injuries after colliding with wall

On March 18, 2023 at approximately 10:55 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of East San Antonio Drive regarding a report of a motorcyclist who crashed into a wall, which resulted in the death of a woman.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an unconscious woman in a private underground parking garage suffering from serious injuries. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived and administered life-saving measures and transported the victim to a local hospital for her life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed the motorcyclist, identified as a 32-year-old resident of Long Beach, accelerated while in the parking garage and lost control of a three-wheeled Can-Am Ryker prior to colliding head-on into a wall. She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

On March 21, 2023, the Long Beach Police Department was notified the motorcyclist passed away at the hospital from injuries sustained in the collision.

The driver of the Can-Am’s identity is being withheld pending confirmation of the notification of the next of kin.
