Extended closures on southbound I-5 off-ramp and loop on-ramp at Alicia Parkway May 20 – 23, 2022

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in partnership with the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is scheduled to have the following extended closures: Southbound I-5 freeway off-ramp at Alicia Parkway; El Toro Road straight on-ramp to southbound I-5; the auxiliary lane (#5 lane); and the westbound Alicia Parkway loop on-ramp to southbound I-5. The closures will start Friday, May 20, at 8:00 p.m. and continue until 5:00 a.m. Monday, May 23.

In addition, the #3 & 4 lanes at Alicia Parkway will be closed during the following times:

Friday, May 20 – 8:00 pm to 8:00 am (Saturday)
Saturday, May 21 – 8:00 pm to 8:00 am (Sunday)
Sunday, May 22 – 8:00 pm to 5:00 am (Monday)

Suggested detours to avoid the area:

  • Bake Pkwy., turn left onto Bake Pkwy., turn right onto Muirlands Blvd. to La Paz Rd., turn right onto La Paz, go under freeway, then right onto southbound I-5 on-ramp.
  • Lake Forest Dr., turn left onto Lake Forest Dr., turn right onto Muirlands Blvd. to La Paz Rd., turn right onto La Paz, go under freeway, then right onto southbound I-5 on-ramp.

All closures including ramps and mainline will be reopened by 5:00 a.m.

Caltrans appreciates the public’s patience while we perform this work. Electronic Changeable Messages Signs will notify drivers of the closure. The work schedule is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials, and/or construction-related issues.
