The Bee Gees defined the Disco era with legendary falsetto harmonies and funky beats, selling more than 200 million records worldwide. The Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) pays tribute to the iconic band with STAYIN’ ALIVE on Saturday, March 25, 8:00 PM. Tickets start at $60.
The indisputable face of Disco, the Bee Gees rocked the world and shattered music charts, earning the distinction of being the only group in history to have written, recorded, and produced six consecutive No. One hits. The group’s Grammy-winning Saturday Night Fever album alone sold more than 30 million copies. It reigned as the top-selling album in history until Michael Jackson’s 1982 Thriller, which Jackson himself acknowledged was inspired by Saturday Night Fever. At the time of the Bee Gees’ induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, the band was outsold by only Elvis, the Beatles, Garth Brooks, Michael Jackson, and Paul McCartney.
The tribute show Stayin’ Alive delivers a Night Fever of the group’s hits, including blockbuster tunes (such as Jive Talkin’, How Deep Is Your Love, You Should Be Dancing, Nights on Broadway, and Lonely Days) as well as popular soft ballads (I Started a Joke, Words, Massachusetts, and To Love Somebody). The high-energy production features big-screen video clips, photos, and dazzling imagery, making the experience more realistic for audiences.
