Lindsey Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis have reunited for “Freaky Friday 2” after Disney released the first behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming sequel to the 2003 hit comedy movie.
Other returning cast members include Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao. New cast members include Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Sophia Hammons, according to Variety.
Disney Studios has yet to release any plot details for the sequel, but they did confirm that “Freaky Friday 2” will have a theatrical release in 2025. The 2003 film grossed nearly $161 million at the worldwide box office.
Interest in “Freaky Friday 2” was first drummed by Curtis during her appearance on “The View” in 2022. During the talk show, Curtis said she had personally “written to Disney” about making the sequel.
“Freaky Friday,” available on Disney+, marked its 20th anniversary last year.
