Orange County Museum of Art’s California Biennial, “Desperate, Scared, but Social,” continues through Jan. 4. The exhibit features the work of Huntington Beach photographer Deanna Templeton. She showcases a series of photographs of young women who remind her of her younger self, accompanied by some of her own adolescent journal entries. “I think my words, my diary entries, are exactly what the theme of the show is about,” she says.” I was desperate, scared, and a little bit social. As for my photographs, I believe they represent coming out the other side. I see all of these young women as badasses.”
