Cypress police blotter, September 12 to September 18, 2022

September 12, 2022

 
Burglary – 7:43 a.m. – 6000 block of Cerritos Ave. – According to video evidence, at approximately 3 a.m., a male, white, 35-45 years of age wearing a black face covering, blue pants, gray gloves and a black backpack, riding a blue beach cruiser bike, entered the business via a glass door smash and stole tools. 
Burglary – 8:24 a.m. – 6000 block of Cerritos Ave. – Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect (likely the same as mentioned above) entered the business via a glass door smash.  The loss was unknown at this time. 
Vandalism – 10:04 a.m. – Walker/Rome – A male subject was arrested for felony vandalism after he climbed on the victim’s truck and smashed the front windshield. The subject attempted to injure himself in the rear of a police unit.

September 13, 2022

 
Child Abuse Report – 12:23 p.m. – 4400 block of Casa Grande Cir. – Cypress Police took a courtesy child abuse report for Inglewood Police after the school of a 6-year-old victim reported the child to display a swollen eye. Contact with the mother, confirmed she suspects the father of abuse after the injury showed up after the victim was returned from a child custody exchange over the weekend. The father is a resident of Inglewood. Orange County Child Protective Services was called and responded for a report, and the child was left in the care of the mother.
Arrest – 4:53 p.m. – 9000 block of Holder St. – From a call of a subject with a kitchen knife, a male subject was arrested for possession of a dirk/dagger.

September 14, 2022

 
Arrest – 8:12 p.m. – 5400 block of Katella Ave. – From a call for service of a shoplifter being detained at the location, a subject was arrested for burglary.
Bike Stop – 11:48 p.m. – Lincoln/Valley View – From a bicycle stop, a male subject was arrested for warrants.

September 15, 2022

 
Grand Theft – 2:21 a.m. – 9100 block of Valley View St. – The victim reported the catalytic converter was stolen from his vehicle within the last 15 minutes. A witness observed two males wearing face coverings pull up in a white sedan, exit the vehicle and steal the victim’s catalytic converter.  The suspects then entered back into the white sedan and fled the scene southbound on Valley View.
Domestic Violence Report – 12:39 p.m. – 6100 block of Orange Ave. – Officers responded to the residence regarding a family disturbance and found both subjects accused the other of misdemeanor domestic violence, each sustaining a minor scratch to their arm. Both subjects were elderly, with extensive medical issues, and police were unable to determine a primary aggressor.
Theft Report – 4:55 p.m. – 10200 block of Valley View St. – Loss Prevention reported two subjects stole stickers and toys (valued at $200) and left in a gray Honda Accord with Cheetah print all over the vehicle. The suspects were described as a black female in her 40s wearing a yellow cardigan and a black male wearing all black.

September 16, 2022

 
Transient – 7:15 a.m. – 9800 block of Valley View St. – From a call of a transient sleeping by the flagpole, a female subject was arrested for a cite and release warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Shoplifting – 7:15 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – A female Hispanic wearing a green dress took $350 worth of clothing and fled the location in a vehicle.
Public Intoxication – 8:44 p.m. – 9800 block of Walker St. – From a call for service of a transient yelling obscenities, a subject was arrested for being drunk in public. 
2159 hours – Arrest – Lincoln / Market: From a traffic stop, Gabriel Rodriguez (12/07/00) was
arrested for being unlicensed and Cristhian Milan (10/08/00) for possession of narcotics. 

September 17, 2022

 
Traffic Stop – 2:55 a.m. – Ball/Moody – From a car stop, two juveniles were arrested for possession of a loaded firearm and a controlled substance.  Two other subjects were also arrested for possession of a loaded firearm, brass knuckles, narcotics, resisting/delaying an officer and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Vandalism Report – 1:25 p.m. – 8800 block of Walker St. – Between 1:15 p.m. and 1:25 p.m, an unknown
suspect smashed the driver’s window of the victim’s vehicle. No property was taken.

September 18, 2022

 
Traffic Stop – 1:28 a.m. – Lincoln/Moody – From a traffic stop, a female subject was arrested for possession of narcotics and paraphernalia. 
Arrest – 2:08 a.m. – Lincoln/Moody – While an officer assisted on the above stop, an uninvolved vehicle traveling westbound Lincoln nearly collided with his police unit by coming to a screeching halt.  As the vehicle reversed and attempted to pull away, she collided with his police unit causing minor damage. La Palma Police responded for the traffic collision, and a female subject was arrested for DUI.
