March 12, 2023

Vehicle Burglary – 1:01 p.m. – 6800 block of Reefton – Sometime between 3 p.m. on 3/10 and today’s date, an unknown suspect broke into the victim’s truck and stole $2000 worth of tools. 
Shoplifting – 8:29 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – Store security identified subjects inside the store who earlier stole multiple bottles of alcohol from the nearby store. The subjects fled before committing a crime in Cypress and left in a vehicle.  Officers located the vehicle parked at a nearby inn and contacted the sole occupant.  The subject was found to have multiple bottles of alcohol inside the vehicle, to include Ecstasy pills. The subject was arrested for possession of Ecstasy pills, and returned the alcohol bottles to store. The subject was cited and released from the field, and the report will be forward to Westminster PD.

March 13, 2023

Commercial Burglary – 8:03 a.m. – 9100 block of Valley View St. – During a beat check, police located a window smash to the business.  From the video surveillance, it was determined that at 5:40 a.m., a male subject smashed the north glass door and stole a STAR receipt printer.
Commercial Burglary – 10:23 p.m. – 11700 block of Valley View St. – Officers responded to an alarm call at the location and found the front door to the business was unlocked.  Officers checked the business and did not observe any signs of a crime.  The emergency contact responded and upon review of the surveillance cameras observed two male subjects cut the lockbox from the front door and use the keys to make entry. The suspects were last seen leaving the area in a dark blue Toyota Prius. The victim was unable to determine a loss from inside of the business at this time.

March 14, 2023

Tobacco Retailer Inspections – 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Citywide- SIU conducted citywide inspections of tobacco retailers to confirm compliance with tobacco sales. 
Catalytic Converter Theft – 4:23 p.m. – 9200 block of Valley View St. – At the time of the call, two male subjects wearing hoodies stole the catalytic converter from the victim’s Toyota Prius.  The suspect vehicle was a blue Infiniti Q35.  A general broadcast was issued and the vehicle was last seen fleeing northbound on Valley View. 

March 15, 2023

Stolen Vehicle – 10:16 a.m. – 5300 block of Bishop – Sometime overnight an unknown suspect stole the victim’s vehicle.  No suspect.  The victim later returned to the police department to report her vehicle was returned and no longer desired prosecution.
Catalytic Converter Theft – 1:36 p.m. – 9100 block of Ethel St. – Sometime between 8 p.m. the night before and time of call, an unknown suspect stole the catalytic converter from the victim’s Toyota Prius.
Arrest (x3) – 6:27 p.m. – 10000 block of Valley View St. – From a call for service of a theft in progress, one subject was arrested for shoplifting and possession of paraphernalia, a second subject was arrested for shoplifting and possession of a controlled substance, and a third subject was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy. All three were cited and released from the station.

March 16, 2023

Transient – 7:40 a.m. – Orange/Walker – From a call for service of a transient destroying the memorial on the northeast corner of the intersection, a female subject was arrested for being in possession of a shopping cart and resist/delay an officer. Due to the memorial being abandoned property, we were unable to find an owner for vandalism. Public Works responded for cleanup and to store bulk property belonging to the transient. The subject was transported to Orange County Jail (OCJ) for booking.
Arrest – 11:28 a.m. – 5800 block of Lincoln Ave. – From a call of Loss Prevention investigating a store employee, a female subject was arrested for embezzlement after she was found to give free items to her boyfriend’s boss over a period of time. She was transported to OCJ for booking and later released on citation.

March 17, 2023

Grand Theft – 1:28 a.m. – 5100 block of Canterbury – The victim’s catalytic converters were stolen from their Toyota Tundra truck.  The suspect vehicle was a white four-door sedan with a loud exhaust that left northbound on Moody.  Officers were unable to locate the vehicle on an area search.
Assist Outside Agency – 2:21 a.m. – Los Alamitos Blvd./Cerritos (Los Alamitos) – Cypress Officers assisted Los Alamitos Police Department with a felony car stop on an license plate reader hit on a stolen vehicle that was located on Via Largo and Ball.
Indecent Exposure – 7:16 p.m. – 10000 block of Bloomfield – At approximately 3:45 p.m., two juveniles were walking home from school and observed a dirty red Toyota Camry parked on the east side of Bloomfield. The vehicle was filled with personal belongings and junk.  As the juveniles walked past the vehicle they observed a male subject masturbating.  When the male subject saw the juveniles he drove slowly away.

March 18, 2023

Assault and Battery – 1:13 a.m. – 9100 block of Valley View St. – From a call for service, a male subject was arrested for assault and battery after he punched one of the security guards who was trying to disperse a fight. The subject was cited and released from the station.
Arrest – 3:48 p.m. – 6200 block of Gateway Dr. – From a call for service, a male subject was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The subject was cited and released from the scene.
