March 7, 2022
Reckless Driving – 12:28 a.m. – Wardlow/Norwalk (Long Beach) – Police observed two vehicles racing at high speeds westbound on Ball Rd. at Moody St. One vehicle yielded west of Norwalk Blvd. and the other continued westbound on Wardlow. A male subject was arrested for exhibition of speed and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
Shoplifting – 3:29 p.m. – 4000 block of Ball Rd. – From a call for service, police arrested a female subject for shoplifting. The subject is a habitual shoplifter at this location. She was cited and released in the field.
Petty Theft – 6:48 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – A female subject entered into the business and stole approximately $500.00 worth of clothing. She fled in a black 2005 Mercedes, driven by a male subject. This same vehicle has been involved in three prior Cypress thefts during the month of February.

Catalytic Converter Theft – 6:10 a.m. – 5100 block of Brunswick – At approximately 2:46 a.m., three suspects were seen on video stealing the victim’s catalytic converter from her Honda Accord.
Disturbance (Fight) – 5:15 p.m. – 9800 block of Valley View St. – Four juvenile females got into a physical altercation on campus after school. When parents tried to intervene, the adults were assaulted by two of the more aggressive females. Two suspects were apprehended and two were able to flee without being caught. One parent received minor injuries as a result of being assaulted by the juveniles. The juveniles were released to their father at the scene and petitions will be filed after the investigation is completed. The school administration was on-scene.

Domestic Violence – 9:59 a.m. – 8700 block of Walker St. – Officers responded regarding a domestic dispute between subject and his girlfriend. Both parties accused the other of minor physical violence with no injuries and no prosecution desired.
Catalytic Converter Theft – 5:07 p.m. – 9800 block of Newcastle – At approximately 2:40 a.m. on this date, 3 suspects were seen on video stealing the catalytic converter from the victim’s vehicle.

Traffic Stop – 8:58 a.m. – Lincoln Ct./Lincoln Ave. – From a traffic stop, a male subject was arrested for possession of a concealed dirk or dagger, possession of a switchblade, and possession of stolen property (copper wire). After contacting parole regarding his arrest, parole issued a PC 3056 hold. Additionally, another agency detectives advised he was wanted on an open case and they responded to Cypress Police Department to interview the suspect.
Traffic Collision – 8:08 p.m. – Orange/Moody – Two vehicles collided in the intersection, with one rolling over three times, shearing the traffic signal on the northwest corner and causing the entire intersection to black out. The other vehicle barely missed the fire hydrant before colliding with the chain link fence on the northeast corner.

Vehicle Burglary – 7:36 a.m. – 4000 block of Via Encinas – Overnight, an unknown suspect smashed the window to the victim’s vehicle and stole a backpack. No suspect information or surveillance.
Attempted Robbery – 11:10 a.m. – 4000 block of Via Encinas – The suspect returned to the victim’s burglarized vehicle (see above entry) and retrieved keys from inside the vehicle that were likely left by mistake during the original crime. When confronted by the victim, who was recording the incident on his cell phone, the suspect unsuccessfully attempted to hit the victim and take his cell phone. The suspect then fled on foot and was associated to a white Acura.

Pedestrian Stop – 5:14 a.m. – Lincoln/Knott – From a triple pedestrian check, police arrested a male subject and a female subjecy for possession of paraphernalia. They were cited and released in the field.
Arrest – 3:11 p.m. – 4500 block of Blanca Dr. – The victim reported a known male subject came to the residence and broke the water main by kicking it. He fled on foot and was located at Lincoln and Denni. Officers arrested him for felony vandalism and obtained a parole hold. He was transported to Orange County Jail for booking.
Vehicle Burglary – 8:41 p.m. – 4800 block of Merten – Sometime overnight, the victim’s Kia Sorrento was broken into and $2000K worth of dog grooming equipment was stolen. No suspect information.
March 13, 2022
Vehicle Burglary – 10:30 a.m. – 9100 block of Bloomfield – Overnight, an unknown suspect smashed the rear window to the victim’s vehicle and stole an Apple iPad, Apple watch, $3000 in personal belongings, and identification cards. There was no suspect information.
Grand Theft – 6:11 p.m. – Fichot/Grand Manan – Between 03/11/22 and time of call, the victim’s catalytic converter was stolen from his Toyota Tundra. No suspect information.
