January 22, 2023

 
Traffic Stop – 10:33 a.m. – Lincoln/Valley View – From a traffic stop, a male subject was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and a warrant. The subject was cited and released in the field. 
Stolen Vehicle – 12:30 p.m. – 9200 block of Valley View St. – While the victim attended the swap meet, an unknown suspect stole her vehicle. The vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System. 

January 23, 2023

 
Vehicle Burglary – 6:01 a.m. – 8200 block of Gay – Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle via a window smash and stole $20K worth of tools.
Traffic Collision – 5:45 p.m. – Cerritos/Moody – An elderly female struck a parked vehicle east of the intersection. 
Shoplifting – 6:42 p.m. – 5800 block of Lincoln Ave. – A male subject was arrested for shoplifting after the business manager observed him steal miscellaneous tools valued at $227.00. He was cited and released. 

January 24, 2023

 
Patrol – 2:04 a.m. – 5900 block of Corporate Ave. – While on routine patrol, a police officer observed a subject looking into closed businesses on Corporate with a flashlight. The officer attempted to contact the subject, who fled on foot. The male subject was arrested for resisting and delaying an officer and misappropriation of property.  He was cited and released at Cypress Police Department.
Grand Theft – 1:35 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – On 1/20/23, suspects were captured on video stealing $2400 worth of liquor, kitchen aids, and sporting goods items. This pair has hit other locations as well.
Robbery – 4:30 p.m. – 10200 block of Valley View St. – A male subject was arrested for an Estes robbery1, possession of brass knuckles, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after he used the threat of violence to steal miscellaneous items from the store. The subject was booked at Orange County Jail (OCJ) by night shift.
Disturbance (Subject) – 6:52 p.m. – 5200 block of Orange Ave. – Officers responded to the location regarding a male subject banging on the front door and armed with a knife. The 27 employees and children inside locked themselves in a back room. During that time, the suspect entered the locked business by unknown means and attempted to steal $1000.00 worth of gaming electronics. A male subject was arrested for commercial burglary. The same subject had been arrested for trespassing at 4:19 p.m. The subject was booked at OCJ.

January 25, 2023

 
Commercial Burglary – 4:18 a.m. – 5900 block of Corporate Ave. – Unknown suspects shattered the front door windows to both businesses and made entry. The cash registers were pried open and the loss was cash. One business loss was $500. The loss at the second business was unknown at the time of this log. Both businesses have surveillance cameras but a manager was unavailable to review the video at this time.
Grand Theft – 8:38 p.m. – 5000 block of Ball Rd. – Two unknown males entered the business and took $1500 worth of nicotine patches.
Suspicious Vehicle – 10:16 p.m. – 9200 block of Bloomfield – Officers responded for a suspicious vehicle circling the parking lot. Police located the vehicle and conducted an enforcement stop. Further investigation revealed the vehicle to be cold plated and found to be a reported stolen vehicle. A male subjecy was arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of methamphetamine.

January 26, 2023

 
Community Event – 3:00 p.m. – 9800 block of Valley View St. – The Police Officers Association participated (and won 6-5!) in a friendly competition with the Girls High School Softball Team. Fun event enjoyed by all!
Petty Theft – 8:10 a.m. – 5500 block of Ball Rd. – An unknown subject stole approximately $150 worth of miscellaneous items and left in vehicle.

January 27, 2023

 
Commercial Burglary – 8:40 a.m. – 5900 block of Cerritos Ave. – At approximately 2:07 a.m., unknown suspect burglarized the business via front window smash and stole $200 cash.
Commercial Burglary – 9:04 a.m. – 10500 block of Valley View St. – At approximately 2:10 a.m., three suspects arrived to the business complex in a vehicle and burglarized businesses, all by front door window smashes. At this time, there is no loss at any location. Based on surveillance and items moved, the suspects did make entry.

January 28, 2023

 
Traffic Stop – 7:44 a.m. – Lincoln/Knott – From a traffic stop, a male subject was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl. He was cited and released in the field.
Transient – 10:57 a.m. – 10000 block of Valley View St. – From a transient call for service, a male subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the station and released on citation.

1An Estes robbery is when a subject commits a petty theft, but the crime then escalates to a robbery when the subject uses force, intimidation, or violence against security or loss prevention.
