January 1, 2023
Suspicious Subject – 4:33 a.m. – Southampton/Matinicus – From a call for service of a suspicious subject on a bicycle, a male subject was arrested for possession of narcotics. He was cited and released at the scene.
Arctic Snowy Owl – 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. – Approximately 200-300 spectators gathered in front of the location to photograph a rare Arctic Snow Owl perched on the roof. Numerous calls for service throughout the shift.
January 2, 2023
Suspicious Subject – 12:30 a.m. – 5200 block of Citation – From a suspicious person call for service, a male subject was arrested for misappropriation of lost property. He was cited and released in the field.
Court Order Violation 1:13 p.m. – 9800 block of Novara – Officers responded to the residence regarding a restraining order violation and possible burglary in progress. Upon arrival, a male subject fled from officers and got into his vehicle. The subject then failed to yield for officers and drove 1.5 miles before finally yielding. He was arrested for the domestic violence restraining order violation and for the failure to yield. The subject was absentee booked at Orange County Jail (OCJ).
Found Child – 10:34 p.m. – 5900 block of Corporate –> From a call of a found two year old child, police located the mother inside of her room and arrested her for child endangerment and two outstanding warrants. They also arrested a second female subject for possession of Methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Both were cited and released in the field. CPS notified.
January 3, 2023
Vehicle Burglary – 2:47 p.m. – 5600 block of Lincoln Ave. – Sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., an unknown suspect smashed the rear window of the victim’s vehicle and stole her purse containing her wallet.
Traffic Stop – 10:34 p.m. – Ball/Knott – From a traffic stop, a male subject was arrested for warrants, possession of Methamphetamine and paraphernalia. A second male subject was also arrested for driving on a suspended license. Both were cited and released in the field.
January 4, 2023
Shoplifting – 12:55 p.m. – 10000 block of Valley View St. – A male, white, wearing a yellow hat, jacket and pants with black shoes stole items from the store and fled in a gray Honda. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
Grand Theft – 5:47 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – On 01-03-23 at 3:15 p.m., a known suspect entered the business with 3 other unknown suspects and stole approximately $4,000 worth of printer ink cartridges. The suspects were last seen fleeing the area in a white VW Jetta with no plates.
January 5, 2023
Traffic Stop – 12:26 a.m. – Katella/Yamaha – From a traffic stop, a male subject was arrested for possession of a loaded firearm. He was cited and released from the station.
Traffic Stop – 2:02 p.m. – Knott/Crescent – From a traffic stop, a male subject was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and he was cited and released at the scene. A second subject was also arrested for possession of a loaded ghost gun in a vehicle by a felon. The second subject was transported to OCJ on the charges.
January 6, 2023
Robbery – 3:29 a.m. – 9400 block of Valley View St. – A male subject reportedly robbed the clerk at knifepoint. The suspect obtained $300 in cash and was last seen eastbound Orange.
Home Invasion Robbery/Kidnapping – 10:48 a.m. – The victim sold property on OfferUp, including high-priced items pictured for sale (a Rolex watch), and used his home address as the meeting point. At approximately 10:40 a.m., a suspect knocked on the victim’s residence door. After posing as a possible buyer, he pointed a firearm at him and demanded the victim retrieve a Rolex watch that the victim had posted online. The suspects dragged the victim upstairs and they began looking for the watch in the victim’s mother’s bedroom. When they couldn’t find the watch, one suspect pistol-whipped the victim on the back of his head and then left the residence, stealing the victim’s cell phone and his mother’s Louis Vuitton purse. The suspects left on foot and immediately discarded the cell phone in the general area outside.
Shoplifting – 12:38 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – Two suspects entered and stole 18 bottles of tequila ($900 loss). They fled in a gray Hyundai.
Brandishing a Weapon – 11:31 p.m. – 9100 block of Valley View St. – From a call for service of a subject brandishing a knife, a male subject was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and brandishing a knife, and a second male subject was arrested for conspiracy. They were both transported to OCJ.
January 7, 2023
Pedestrian Check – 2:33 p.m. – Ball/Juanita – From a pedestrian check, a male subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and outstanding warrants. He was cited and released in the field.
Shoplifting – 8:49 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – From a call for service of a shoplifter, a female subject was arrested for grand theft and possession of narcotics for sale. She was transported to OCJ for booking.
