February 21, 2022

Hit and Run Traffic Collision – 1:07 a.m. – 4400 block of Nestle – The homeowner woke up to the sound of a collision in front of his residence. When he responded outside, he observed fresh collision damage to his brick wall on the side of his residence. A fluid trail was tracked from the residence to a gas station, where a black vehicle, was located unoccupied with fresh collision damage and leaking fluid. The vehicle was registered out of Palmdale and was towed as evidence.
Burglary (x4) – 1:17 p.m. – 9100 block of Valley View St. – Sometime over the weekend, an unknown suspect cut the lock and stole miscellaneous personal items, including collectors’ Lego sets, the loss is valued at $20,000. The suspect also tunneled into 3 other units during this crime. Police were able to track down an additional victim, but were still looking to speak with 2 more victims.
Attempted Murder – 10:06 p.m. – 9500 block of Valley View St. – Multiple witnesses observed two males fighting in the parking lot. Subject 1 attempted to stab Subject 2 with a knife. Subject 2 then fired multiple rounds at Subject 1 from a 9mm handgun. The rounds struck a business office in the 9500 block of Valley View and two parked vehicles. Both subjects fled in separate cars southbound on Valley View.

February 22, 2022

Petty Theft – 11:32 a.m. – 8400 block of Beach Cir. – Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect stole the charger for the victim’s electric vehicle. The loss was valued at $800.
Domestic Battery – 12:44 p.m. – 5200 block of Halifax – The victim came to the Police Department lobby to report that on an unknown date, about a month prior to this report, her husband choked her. The victim said she did not lose consciousness and was not injured as a result of the alleged choking. The victim was not in fear for her safety and was not desirous of prosecution.

February 23, 2022

Assist Other Agency – 1:19 a.m. – Seal Beach/Bolsa (Seal Beach) – Cypress Police officers assisted Seal Beach Police Department at the termination point of a vehicle pursuit where the driver fled on foot. The subject was taken into custody without incident.
Terrorist Threats – 10:17 a.m. – 10300 block of Janice Lynn – The suspect pounded on a neighbor’s door and said he would slash her. Police took a terrorist threats report. When police attempted to contact him, the suspect would not answer his door.
Package Theft – 6:15 p.m. – 8200 block of Walker St. – On 2-22-22 at approximately 6:46 a.m., a white male subject driving a Porsche SUV was recorded on video surveillance taking packages from the victim’s porch. Records revealed the vehicle to be a white 2022 Porsche Cayenne, reported stolen from the jurisdiction of the Placentia PD.
Vehicle Theft – 9:49 p.m. – 5800 block of Lincoln Ave. – The victim entered the business, leaving a “friend” in the vehicle with the keys while he shopped. When the victim returned, the vehicle and “friend” were no longer present. Vehicle was a 2021 Toyota Corolla.

February 24, 2022

Theft from a Vehicle – 1:39 a.m. – 6800 block of Brenton Wy. – A witnesses called and advised that someone was in his neighbor’s vehicle (2006 Ford Freestyle), and left the location in a black sedan, possibly a Honda. The witness was unable to get the license plate due to it being covered.
Vehicle Burglary – 7:04 p.m. – Lincoln/Valley View – Sometime between 02-23-22 at 8:15 p.m. and time of call, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s locked vehicle by unknown means and stole the victim’s wallet and garage remote. The victim’s credit card was later used at a business.

February 25, 2022

Found Property – 2:03 p.m. – 8700 block of Walker St. – A landscaper located a brown backpack on the property (in the bushes by the entrance off Watson) with a ghost 9mm handgun, extended magazine, and ammo inside. The Criminal Investigation Bureau was notified.
Theft – 7:13 p.m. – 5500 block of Ball Rd. – Officers responded to the area regarding a theft that just occurred. During an area check, the subject was located and found to be in possession of the stolen property. Officers arrested the subject for shoplifting. The subject was cited and released in the field.
Pedestrian Check – 9:48 p.m. – Meridian/International – From a suspicious pedestrian check, Officers arrested a male subject for a parole hold, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of lost property. The subject was transported to Orange County Jail for booking.

February 26, 2022

Area Check – 12:44 a.m. – Katella/Walnut (Los Alamitos) –Officers were advised of a black Kia Optima, with front-end damage, possibly on fire, being followed by the reporting party from the 605 Freeway. The vehicle was last seen in the area of Via Largo and Ball Rd. Moments later, a Los Alamitos officer observed the vehicle traveling on westbound Katella from Bloomfield, but lost sight of it. During an area check, officers located the vehicle, occupied, near the intersection of Walnut and Katella in Los Alamitos. Officers arrested the driver for DUI. The subject refused a chemical test and a McNeely warrant was obtained. When presented with the warrant, the subject voluntarily provided a blood sample. The subject was transported to OCJ for booking.
Arrest – 2:49 p.m. – 5900 block of Corporate Ave. – After being advised of trespassing this morning, a transient returned back to the location and was arrested for trespassing (private person arrest). He was taken to Cypress Police Department for booking and released on citation.
Vehicle Burglary – 3:47 p.m. – 8600 block of Walker St. – A postal employee was in a USPS truck and out on foot delivering mail. Between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m., unknown suspect smashed the window and stole a lunch bag containing personal items. No suspect information.
Vehicle Theft – 6:48 p.m. – 5700 block of Lincoln Ave. – When the Postal employee returned to the office after reporting a vehicle burglary from the USPS truck that occurred earlier in the day (the loss was personal items including vehicle keys), the reporting party found that their vehicle was missing from the rear parking lot. Video surveillance was unable to be reviewed due to the US Postal Inspector not being on site. The vehicle was a black 2020 Toyota Sienna and was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System.

February 27, 2022

Attempted Auto Theft – 11:01 a.m. – 4500 block of Larwin – Between 6 p.m. Saturday and 10:45 a.m. today, an unknown suspect attempted to steal the victim’s black Hyundai Sonata. The suspect damaged the ignition but was unable to steal the vehicle.
Warrant Service – 1:45 p.m. – 11000 block of Enterprise (Los Alamitos) – Officers assisted Los Alamitos PD by holding a perimeter while they served a search warrant at this location for a suspect who committed an assault with a deadly weapon earlier in the day.
