Cypress police blotter, December 5 to December 11, 2022

December 5, 2022

Burglary – 1:22 a.m. – 5300 block of Katella Ave. – The reporting party received a call from the alarm company at 1:05 a.m. reporting an alarm activation.  He responded to the business and observed the south side window to the business had been smashed. Officers responded and were unable to locate a suspect. The cash drawer was taken from the register, however there was no money inside. Video surveillance showed a male suspect, wearing a hooded sweatshirt.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 10:49 a.m. – 5600 block of Lincoln Ave. – The registered owner reported the vehicle stolen.  A few minutes after that report, the vehicle was scanned by cameras on Beach at Orange, and Anaheim PD located the vehicle. It was then that it was discovered the vehicle had been taken by the previous owner. The vehicle was entered and removed from the system.

December 6, 2022

Traffic Stop – 3:20 a.m. – Lincoln/Valley View – From a traffic stop, a male subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, and a female subject for two no-bail warrants.  The male subject was cited and released in the field and the female subject was booked at Orange County Jail (OCJ).
Arrest – 5:06 a.m. – Lincoln/Anaheim – A female subject was arrested for failure to yield and resisting arrest. She was cited and released from the station.
Prisoner Transport – 6:00 a.m. – OCJ – Due to the arrestee from the previous incident refusing to sign her citation, she was transported to OCJ, with an additional charge of refusal to sign a promise to appear.
Vehicle Burglary – 3:35 p.m. – 5800 block of Lincoln Ave. – Within 20 minutes of the call for service, an unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a wallet containing $3200 cash and credit cards.  The victim believed he may have been followed from the bank to the business. 

December 7, 2022

Trespassing – 8:31 a.m. – 5800 block of Katella Ave. – A male transient was arrested for trespassing after he broke into a room and refused to leave. The subject was absentee booked at OCJ. 
Shoplifting – 12:05 p.m. – 5800 block of Lincoln Ave. – A male subject was arrested for shoplifting and a warrant after he was pursued from the store by loss prevention. The property was recovered and the subject was cited and released in the field. 

December 8, 2022

Pedestrian Check – 11:23 a.m. – Lincoln/Knott – From a pedestrian check, a male subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant and possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. A female subject was also arrested for an outstanding warrant. Both were cited and released in the field.
Arrest – 11:34 p.m. – 6200 block of Jasmine Wy. – From a call for service, a male subject was arrested for brandishing an imitation firearm after he confronted a neighbor during a dispute. The imitation gun was collected and booked as evidence and the subject was cited and released in the field.

December 9, 2022

Arrest – 12:38 a.m. – Katella/Meridian – From a call for service, a male subject was arrested for DUI after his vehicle collided with another vehicle. He was absentee booked and transported to OCJ.
Pedestrian Check – 10:47 a.m. – 10900 block of Meridian Dr. – From a pedestrian check, a male subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant, possession of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. A female subject was also arrested for an outstanding warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia. The male subject was transported to OCJ for booking and the female subject was released in the field on citation.
Probation Search – 11:45 p.m. – 6200 block of Lincoln Ave. – From a probation search of the room, one subject was arrested for narcotic sales and a second subject for conspiracy and parole hold. A third subject was arrested for possession of narcotics. A fourth subject was arrested for warrants and a probation hold, and a fifth subject for warrants. All subjects were absentee booked and transported to OCJ, except the third subject, who was cited and released at the scene.

December 10, 2022

LPR Hit – 3:14 a.m. – Katella/Winners – From a call of a License Plate Reader hit of a stolen vehicle, police located the vehicle at Orange and Walker where it pulled into the parking space of the northeast residence. A felony car stop was conducted and subject was detained. Dispatch updated that the vehicle was embezzled from a car rental company. The rental company was contacted; they did not want prosecution and only wanted the vehicle returned. The vehicle was towed, a report was taken and the subject was released at the scene.
Bike Stop – 8:46 a.m. – 4300 block of Lincoln Ave. – From a bike stop, a male subject was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant and possession of methamphetamine. He was cited for the narcotics and transported to OCJ for booking on the warrant.
Grand Theft Report – 4:11 p.m. – 9800 block of Bloomfield – Between yesterday at 4:30 p.m. and the time of call, an unknown suspect stole the tailgate from the victim’s blue Toyota Tacoma.

December 11, 2022

Domestic Violence – 11:35 a.m. – 4100 block of Larwin Ave. – The female victim reported that her boyfriend bit, strangled, and punched her during a verbal argument. He fled the location prior to officers’ arrival. Report taken and an emergency protection order was granted, but not served.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 1:37 p.m. – 6300 block of Orange Ave. – A 2016 Kia Optima was located unoccupied in front of the location. No suspect information.
