April 11, 2022
Vehicle Burglary – 1:00 p.m. – 6300 block of Gateway – Sometime between 4/8 at 3 p.m. and 4/11 at 12:00 p.m., an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle via a window smash and stole a generator and other miscellaneous items.
Vehicle Burglary – 1:15 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. –1315 hours – 68XX Katella – Vehicle Burglary – At approximately 1233 hours, two unknown suspects, one wearing dark clothing, the other with light colored hair, both riding bicycles smashed the front driver’s side window of the victim’s vehicle and stole cologne.
April 12, 2022
Mailbox Theft – 7:42 a.m. – 4800 block of Fieldbrook – A suspect was viewed on video opening a locked mailbox bank with a key and removing mail before driving away. This has happened twice, with occurrence times being approximately 5:30 a.m and approximately 1:30 p.m. on 3/31 and 4/5. The suspect was male wearing a hoodie with a red/white logo, driving a green 2000’s Honda Accord.
Structure Fire – 4:06 p.m. – Bloomfield/Cardiff- Cypress Police assisted Orange County Fire Authority and LA County Fire with a house fire on the west side of Bloomfield north of Cardiff. The residence was located in Hawaiian Gardens, but Bloomfield was shut down to all traffic until after 1800 hours, officers handled traffic control.
Residential Burglary – 5:16 p.m. – 5300 block of Bishop – The victim came home and found a subject inside of his garage going through his property. The subject left on foot and was located by police a short distance away. The subject was arrested for burglary. No property was taken.
April 13, 2022
Directed Traffic Enforcement – 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – Orange/Denni – In an effort to bring traffic safety awareness to parents and students, and support the Traffic Bureau, the shift conducted traffic enforcement/education for school traffic.
Attempted Robbery – 1:15 p.m. – 10000 block of Valley View St. – After the victim exited the bank with rolled coins, a male wearing a gray hoodie and mask attempted to rob her by force. The victim screamed and was able to retain her purse and escape with minor injuries.
Suspicious Subject – 9:25 p.m. – 5900 block of Corporate – From a suspicious subject call, police located a male subject hiding behind a vehicle that was later found to be burglarized. Officers arrested the subject for vehicle burglary, possession of cocaine and possession of methamphetamine.
April 14, 2022
Assist Outside Agency – 1:04 p.m. – Los Alamitos/Cerritos (Los Alamitos) – From an License Plate Reader hit, police located the stolen vehicle traveling northbound on Los Alamitos Boulevard and a pursuit was initiated by Los Alamitos Police Department. Cypress Police assisted and ultimately the vehicle was located abandoned. No suspect was located.
Traffic Stop – 9:41 p.m. – Lincoln/Walker – From a traffic stop, a male subject was arrested for resisting/delaying an officer and a probation hold.
April 15, 2022
Grand Theft – 4:07 a.m. – 6100 block of Lawrence – An unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s catalytic converter within the past five minutes. Possibly two vehicles involved, a newer white Mercedes S500 with tinted windows and a white Nissan Sentra with tinted windows. One suspect was described as wearing a red shirt.
Arrest – 4:20 p.m. – 5800 block of Lincoln Ave. – From a call for service of subjects sleeping in the vehicle, two subjects were arrested for possession of fentanyl. One of the subjects was also arrested for a warrant.
April 16, 2022
Theft Report – 12:38 p.m. – 4800 block of Fieldbrook Ln. – Between 04/15/22 at 10 p.m. and time of call, an unknown suspect ripped the mailboxes off the wall in the community.
Traffic Collision – 2:25 p.m. – 5000 block of Ball Rd. – An unlicensed driver had pedal confusion and drove through the business at the location, causing extensive damage to include a support beam for the property. A City Building Inspector responded and yellow tagged the businesses affected. The property management company had a contractor respond to reinforce the support beam. The vehicle is still inside the business and was left there until the structure is safe for it to be removed.
Grand Theft – 6:45 p.m. – 113000 block of Valley View St. – An unknown suspect stole the victim’s tools and documents valued at $1000 via an open window of his vehicle.
April 17, 2022
Vehicle Pursuit – 8:49 p.m. – Katella/Meridian – Police attempted to stop a vehicle for vehicle code violations. The vehicle was registered out of Westminster. The vehicle fled and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit traveled approximately two miles on Katella then terminated in a residential tract when the suspect vehicle collided into a curb and tree. A subject was arrested for felony evading. Only one unit was involved in the pursuit and it was not involved in the collision at the termination point.
Domestic Violence – 11:10 p.m. – 8600 block of Belmont – From a call for service, a female subject was arrested for domestic violence after she struck her boyfriend multiple times with her hands and fists, causing visible injury to his head. An Emergency Protection Order was obtained.
