Orange County high school boys basketball teams wrapped up play Sunday in the Section 7 tournament in Phoenix, Ariz. The tournament featured 192 teams from around the country and was held at the State Farm Stadium Friday through Sunday.
Crean Lutheran
The Saints won their final game of the tournament Sunday, defeating Mead High School of Colorado 64-62 to finish 2-2 in the tournament. Darrell Morris had 16 points and made the game-winning free throws with 1.5 seconds remaining. Evan Yang added 14 points for the Saints.
Earlier Sunday, Crean Lutheran lost to Mountain Vista, Colo. 73-66. Morris led the way with 26 points.
Foothill
The Knights defeated Torrey Pines 58-50 Sunday to finish the tournament 2-2. Foothill, coached by Yousof Etemadi, was led by junior Isaiah Bernard, who had 13 points, senior Adam Semaan who had 11 points and senior Carolo Billings, who had 10 points.
Foothill opened the tourney defeated Lake Oswego 59-38 before losing to Campbell Hall 66-58. Billings had 20 points and nine rebounds and junior Jordan Martin had 14 points and seven rebounds. Foothill’s other loss came to Dougherty Valley from San Ramon.
Pacifica Christian
The Tritons finished the tournament Sunday defeating Grant Union 58-50 to take third place in their bracket with a 3-1 record. The Tritons lost to Hillcrest Idaho in the semifinals after defeating Sheldon 79-48 in the second round. Pacifica Christian also defeated Westlake, Utah 72-41.
