This past Sunday, three young entrepreneurs proved that compassion has no age limit. Ace, 9, Cana, 11, and Coen, 10, organized the United We Drip: Back to School Bash, a youth-led charity event at Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club in Orange County that brought together more than 150 children and their families to donate toys and raise funds for kids facing hardships.
The event combined fun and purpose. Attendees participated in games, arts and crafts, and graffiti wall activities, all while contributing to a growing collection of toys and gifts. Items such as stuffed animals, legos and school supplies will be distributed to children and families in need. A raffle and other fundraising activities helped generate additional support for the Ace of Hearts Project, whose board of directors are 10 years old and under.
Ace Christopherson, founder of the Ace of Hearts Project, said the goal was straightforward: “We wanted kids to know that even if they’re having a hard time, other kids care about them.” He added, “Seeing so many kids come with donations bigger than themselves showed me that even small actions can make a difference.”
The event was entirely led by the three young organizers and founders of Drip Drop OC and the Ace of Hearts Project, with support from parents and volunteers. By the end of the day, the group had collected hundreds of toys and raised funds that will directly benefit children in need.
“This event shows that kids can take action and make a real impact in their community,” said a volunteer. “It’s inspiring to see them take the lead and focus on helping others.”
Ace said he hopes the event will inspire others to get involved: “Kids can make a difference too. We just have to start.”
