The City of Irvine is accepting applications for one volunteer member-at-large position on the Irvine Child Care Project Board. Established in 1984, the Irvine Child Care Project is a joint powers agreement between the Irvine Unified School District and the City of Irvine, overseen by the Irvine Child Care Project Board of Directors.
The Irvine Child Care Project provides quality, affordable, child care for school-aged children through community-based, nonprofit organizations located on elementary school sites for children who reside in Irvine or are enrolled in the Irvine Unified School District.
The Irvine Child Care Project Board is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the operating budget for the Irvine Child Care Project. The board is comprised of five members: two members appointed by the Irvine Unified School District; two members appointed by the City of Irvine; and one member-at-large appointed by the four other board members.
This recruitment will fill a regular term of office for February 2024–January 2025. Applicants must not have children enrolled in an Irvine Child Care Project child care program during their entire time of appointment. Board meetings are held the second Monday of select months (at least six times a year) from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Irvine Civic Center or other Irvine locations.
Applications are available online at cityofirvine.org/iccp. Completed applications must be submitted online by Thursday, November 16, at 5 p.m.
