Singer Chris Brown had a technical issue onstage during his 11:11 tour stop at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center.
A video posted to X, formerly Twitter from The Hollywood Reporter shows Brown suspended in the air with cables as he sings his song “Under the Influence.” The wires were supposed to glide the R&B singer over to a smaller stage at the venue, but that didn’t happen this time.
Fans didn’t immediately notice the malfunction as Brown kept singing and his backup dancers didn’t break from their routine.
Close to about 50 seconds into the video, Brown can be seen flapping his arms and pointing to get someone backstage to help. About 10 seconds later crewmembers show up with a large ladder to help him down. By then, the “No Guidance” singer appears visibly annoyed.
THR reported that Brown later told the audience he was angry but also made light of the situation.
The issue comes just a week after Brown kicked off his tour on June 5 in Detroit.
Brown will remain on the East Coast as he’s set to perform at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York on June 14 and Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on June 16-17.
His tour is set to wrap up at L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena on Aug. 6-7.
