Century, Estancia and Saddleback players compete at inaugural all-star game

The inaugural Orange Grove Conference senior all-star baseball game will be held on Saturday, June 7 at Glover Stadium in Anaheim beginning at noon.

The game will be the North vs. the South with the 22 Freeway being the dividing line, according to Estancia Coach Nate Goellrich.

North schools include Savanna, Anaheim, Orange, Rancho Alamitos, Loara, Western and Magnolia. South Schools include Century, Estancia, Los Amigos, La Quinta, Bolsa Grande, Saddleback, Santiago, and Santa Ana Valley.

Among the players competing are three from Estancia’s CIF Division 6 championship team: Jacob Ramirez, Jake Humphries and Vaughn McRea. Estancia lost to Ridgeview 7-5 Friday in the semifinals of the CIF So Cal Division IV playoffs.

Estancia coach Nate Goellrich confirmed the Eagles seniors will play in the game for the South.

Also playing on the South team are four players from Century’s league championship team: Andy Santana, Ismael Valverde, Julian Arias and Miguel Ulloa.

Four players from Saddleback’s baseball team which advanced to the CIF playoffs for the first time in many years are also on the South team. Roadrunners players are Anthony Lopez, Diego Enriquez, Ricardo Marquez and Ruben Gutierrez.

The remaining players on the South team are Damien Montes De Oca, Geoffrey Guerrero, Julien Mendoza, Rudy Carrillo and Tank Britton from Bolsa Grande; Felex Perez, Jakson Clark and Riley Rokowski from La Quinta and Steven Esteves from Los Amigos.

Players on the North team are Alonzo Esparza, Andrew Tabita, Julian Ramos and Randy Rojas from Anaheim; Blake Jaques and Santiago Cortez from Magnolia; Anthony Zaragoza, Dylan Norwalk, Gogh Nakagawa and Mitchell Osorio and Stewart Samuels from Orange; Carson Labossiere and Matthew Arugelles from Rancho Alamitos; Eric Mangula, Javier Carrillo and Marcos Macias from Savanna and Omar Estevez from Western.

There will be a player of the game selected by the coaches for each team and an overall MVP who will be selected by the coaches.

There is no admission charge. Gates will open at 10:30 a.m.
