ANAHEIM, Calif. (Nov. 7, 2022) — The Anaheim community can now access library resources and materials Saturdays at Central Library and Ponderosa Joint-Use Branch. Both locations will be open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
This is the latest expansion of Anaheim Public Library hours as the city library system works toward the goal of restoring pre-pandemic library hours across the city.
Central Library and Ponderosa Joint-Use Branch join East Anaheim Branch in opening Saturdays and are currently the only locations open on the weekend.
Ponderosa Joint-Use Branch will adjust their weekday hours to 4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. Monday to Thursday.
“We are thrilled to finally return to serving the greater Anaheim community on the weekends. It is another step forward in making Anaheim Public Library accessible for all,” City Librarian Audrey Lujan said.
The expansion of hours comes after Anaheim’s City Council approval this past July of allocated funding towards increasing various library branches’ hours of operation.
The Haskett Branch is slated to open Saturdays by the end of 2022.
