ANAHEIM, Calif. (Sept. 28, 2024) — Today we celebrated the completion of Center Greens Park in our downtown community, perfectly complimenting Anaheim City Hall and the Downtown Anaheim Community Center.

The $6.5 million project transformed a grassy field into an incredible 3.5-acre park, which has something for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy.

“Center Greens reminds us that investing in green spaces is investing in our shared well-being,” Mayor Ashleigh Aitken said. “This park is our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all our residents and visitors.”

The park improvements feature a new 8,000-square-foot skate park, youth challenge course, tot lot, upgraded basketball courts, butterfly garden, landscaping, fitness trail and a shaded plaza.

All of the new and upgraded features compliment the first phase of enhancing Center Greens, which was a 4,300-square-foot playground built in 2022, with an assist from the Anaheim Ducks and Kaboom!

The playground, designed by kids and families in the community, includes a climbing wall, a bridge, monkey bars, a circular spider web climber, spinners, bucket swings, a companion swing, a zip line, teeter-totter game and musical panels.

“This park is part of what it means to be part of our downtown and historic city center,” Council Member Natalie Rubalcava said, “I welcome and join with our community in working together to ensure this park is an enjoyable space for all.”

For those who live, work in or visit downtown Anaheim, Center Greens will be another attraction along with the Anaheim Packing House, Center Street Promenade and the Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center.

The park improvements promote play, health and wellness of everyone in our community.
