The California Contract Cities Association is saddened to share the passing of Frank G. Tripepi, a leader in local government, who passed away on Sunday, June 19 at the age of 74.
Frank began his long career in local government as an administrative assistant in the City of Hawaiian Gardens in 1971. In 1972, he was hired as the assistant city manager at the City of Rosemead. He was promoted to city manager in 1974 and served until 2002. Frank then moved to the private sector to become president and CEO of Willdan Financial and, later, Willdan’s Senior Vice President of Business Development. He also briefly returned to public service in 2008-2009, when he was the interim city manager for the City of La Puente. Frank was awarded CCCA’s most prestigious award, the El Matador Grande in 2002 for his tireless work in support of local control.
Frank was widely regarded for his local government expertise and professional contributions to the San Gabriel Valley and greater Southern California.
The Contract Cities Family sends our deepest condolences to the friends and loved ones of the Tripepi Family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to The American Cancer Society or Disabled American Veterans.
You will be missed, Frank!
