On June 21, 2022, at 8:30 p.m., a lone coyote attacked a two-year-old child inside Mile Square Park near Euclid and Stonecress. California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) obtained a DNA sample from the victim’s clothing, which conclusively proved to be a coyote responsible for the attack. The DNA sample was a match to a coyote that was trapped by the CDFW. CDFW and US Department of Agriculture have concluded all operations.

The child is recovering from the injuries.
