Assemblywoman Petrie-Norris and OC Coast Keeper will host a beach cleanup in Huntington Beach on August 13, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Huntington Beach State Park, 21601 Pacific Coast Highway, PCH and Magnolia St. (Enter in through PCH and Magnolia kiosk and drive north to Lifeguard Tower 9).

Volunteers will collect hundreds of pounds of trash, preventing it from entering our ocean water and polluting our marine environment. With summer in full swing and people spending a lot of time outdoors in our shared spaces, it is important to take the time to do our part in cleaning up and protecting our environment.

Background:
In June, we held a highly successful channel cleanup with our partner OC Coast Keeper. In only a couple of hours, with 80 volunteers, we were able to collect more than 2,500 pounds of plastic and trash, preventing it from ending up in our beautiful coastal waterways. Collectively between our past five beach and channel cleanup events, we have collected 4,438 pounds of trash.
