Starting Monday, December 19, 2022, at 9:00 a.m., qualified low-income Garden Grove residents can apply for the City of Garden Grove’s Home Repair Program, which offers grant funding of up to $5,000 for home improvements. The grant does not need to be repaid. The application deadline is Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. To apply, visit apply.ggcity.org.
Acceptable exterior and interior home repairs include, but are not limited to, window replacement, electrical repairs, pest control, interior and exterior painting, plumbing repairs, heater replacement (HVAC), handicap accessibility modifications, and repairs to address building or safety code violations in the home.
Eligible residents must meet all program income and application requirements. The homeowner must contribute a minimum of $500 towards the project. Home repairs that exceed $5,000 will not be considered.
Funding will be awarded to approximately 10 eligible applicants who are selected through a blind raffle.
The City also offers qualifying residents up to $20,000 of assistance to replace or repair a home roof through the Re-Roof Loan Program. Learn more at ggcity.org/re-roof-loan-program.
