Anaheim, Calif. — The Anaheim Police Department received grant funding from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) to step up motorcycle safety awareness with free, hands-on rider trainings led by local law enforcement.
The $67,000 grant will pay for a series of free motorcycle safety classes that allows riders to practice braking, turning, steering, entering traffic and other skills that help avoid crashes and improve rider safety on the road.
“Focusing on motorcyclist education and safety programs not only benefits the individual rider, but also increases the general safety of the entire motoring public as well as pedestrians” said Anaheim Police Chief Jorge Cisneros about the importance of the grant.
The motorcycle training program will run through September 2023.
