An O.C. woman was killed in a single vehicle collision in Irvine

A solo vehicle traffic collision occurred early on Saturday morning in the area of Alton Parkway and Valley Oak. The driver has died from her injuries, according to the Irvine Police Department.

On Saturday morning, at around 12:40 a.m., the Irvine Police Department (IPD) responded to reports of a traffic collision in the area of Alton Parkway and Valley Oak. Their partners at the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) also responded to assist.

The initial investigation determined a Grey BZ4X Toyota SUV was traveling eastbound Alton Parkway, just east of Valley Oak. A solo female driver lost control of her vehicle and collided with the curb and a cement pillar.

The female driver sustained serious injuries from the collision and was determined to be deceased at the scene. The female driver was identified as Lucero Delarosa (29), of Aliso Viejo, California.

IPD’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the cause of the collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective David Juarez at 949-724-7047.
