Late last night, OCFA firefighters responded to a fierce blaze ripping through a strip mall in Garden Grove.

Upon arrival, the fire crews found that the flames were rapidly running the length of the building, engulfing multiple units. Acting swiftly, the firefighters ensured no one was inside and launched an aggressive attack on the fire.

To protect surrounding buildings, crews executed a strategic defensive operation, successfully containing the flames.

Firefighters knocked down the fire just before 6 a.m. The fire crews will remain on scene for an extended time to fully extinguish hot spots.

The fire crews are also using a drone to check for hot spots from the air.

Fortunately, there are no injuries reported at this time.

Crews will remain on-scene for an extended time. Traffic on Brookhurst may continue to be affected.

The cause remains under investigation.

Editor’s Note – this looks like a total loss. The units appear to be heavily damaged. The fire appears to have happened at 13297 Brookhurst St, Garden Grove, CA 92843.
