A Costa Mesa man died after getting struck by three cars in Santa Ana

January 4, 2025 – A 63-year-old man was struck by multiple vehicles and later pronounced deceased at a local hospital, according to SAPD.

On January 3, 2025, at approximately 5:57 p.m., the Santa Ana Police Department received multiple calls regarding a traffic collision near 1st Street and Center Street.

Police officers, along with Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA), responded to the scene where they discovered that the collision involved a pedestrian and two vehicles. The pedestrian, identified as George Estrada Tellez (63) of Costa Mesa, was treated at the scene before being transported to a local hospital by OCFA. Despite life-saving efforts, George succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Based on preliminary investigation, George appeared to be walking in the eastbound lanes of 1st St. near Center St. when he was struck by two vehicles. The drivers of both vehicles remained at the scene, cooperated with the investigation, and did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
