A bicyclist was fatally struck by a vehicle in Santa Ana yesterday evening

On February 14, 2025, at 6:18 p.m., the Santa Ana Police Department received multiple calls regarding a traffic collision near the area of S. Raitt Street and W. Myrtle Street.

Officers, along with Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA), responded to the scene where they discovered that the collision involved a bicyclist and a vehicle.

The bicyclist was treated at the scene before being transported to a local hospital by OCFA. Despite life-saving efforts, the bicyclist succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Based on the preliminary investigation, the bicyclist appeared to be traveling southbound on Raitt Street when he was struck by a vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, and cooperated with the investigation.

The Santa Ana Police Department’s Collision Investigations Unit (CIU) is investigating this incident.
