K1 Speed, an indoor go-kart racing operator based in Irvine, in November signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with 10-year-old racer Zayne Burgess who has his sights set on Formula 1.
Since its founding in 2003, K1 Speed has expanded to 107 locations, or circuits, in the U.S. and abroad. Burgess says he started go-karting at the K1 Speed in Miami.
Since then, Burgess has raced in Europe in the Champions of the Future Academy in 2025, won titles in the WSK Super Master Series and Trofeo Andrea Margutti and most recently came in second at the IAME World Final in Viterbo, Italy.
Now with a K1 sponsorship, Burgess will have K1 brand imagery on his racing suit and helmet and participate in the operator’s promotional campaigns. His next race is the SKUSA SuperNationals in Las Vegas this month.
K1’s recent partnerships with Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA) and the owners of the Champions of the Future international racing series reflect the operator’s goal to gain credibility in professional motorsports and provide a path from indoor karting to sports car racing.
