After losing a non-league game to Barstow 27-21 Friday night in Barstow, Segerstrom’s football team returns home to host Arlington Friday night at 7.

“We dropped another tough game to a talented team in Barstow,” Segerstrom Coach Joseph Tagaloa said. “We came out flat once again in the first half falling behind by two scores. It was the classic tale of two halves. We under performed in the first half and played Jaguar football in the second half.
“Offense made plays down the stretch with a balanced attack of Noah Martinez throwing a touchdown pass to Eddie Anuu and rushing for a second. Adrian Cervantes, Eddie Anuu and Aaron Cerros ran hard all night.”
Segerstrom (1-2) came into the game “a little banged up” on defense but some players did step up.
“Senior linebacker Joseph Garcia made his presence known all night making play after play,” the coach said. “Our special teams were led by Aiden Valencia who made multiple tackles for punt and kick off teams.
“Overall we did not play our best game but we competed all four quarters. We will learn from this set back and improve. We host Arlington next week and look to get back in the win column.”
Barstow enters the game 2-1.
