Visit Newport Beach Launches New “Kids Club” Promotion

Visit Newport Beach is the undisputed champion when it comes to promoting the city of Newport Beach to the world.

As the official Destination Marketing Organization for the City of Newport Beach dedicated to promoting the destination and driving economic growth by attracting leisure and conference visitors, Visit Newport Beach has won numerous accolades for its creative tourism campaigns.

Among its most memorable is the first-ever 1,000-drone light show extravaganza at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas following the Super Bowl on February 11, 2024.

The drones were choreographed into intricate formations, highlighting Newport Beach, including a QR code in the sky prompting viewers to scan it for a chance to win a vacation package to Newport Beach.

Last winter, Visit Newport Beach brought back its “Après Sea” campaign designed to inspire travelers to stay at sea level by positioning Newport Beach as a winter sanctuary defined by coastal beauty, understated luxury, and effortless sophistication.

Flash forward to summer 2026. Vacations may be ending, but Visit Newport Beach has a hot promotion in store for locals and tourists, with a focus on kids.

Visit Newport Beach has launched the Newport Beach Vacation Kids Club, a free, “members-only” club built around a simple idea: one last vacation.

Signing up is free, and according to Visit Newport Beach it provides families access to exclusive perks for their next trip to Newport Beach.

As temperatures soar inland but linger in the 70s and 80s along the Newport coast long after Labor Day, Newport Beach offers families a rare window to slip away for warm sand, fewer crowds, and a calendar packed with events.

“Summer doesn’t have a hard stop in Newport Beach,” says Gary Sherwin, President & CEO of Visit Newport Beach. “The ocean is warm, the sun is out, and the town is full of things to do, so we want to give families permission to squeeze in one more trip before the holidays take over. The Vacation Kids Club is our way of making that easy.”

Family Friendly Experiences

The Kids Club section of the Visit Newport Beach website lists a variety of discounts on dining and shopping as well as special events and excursions. They are all suitable for out-of-town visitors and staycations.

A few suggestions from Visit Newport Beach:

Rent an Electric Boat

Exploring Newport Harbor by water is almost a must for visiting families. Several local companies offer comfortable, easy-to-drive boats that require no boating experience, including Duffy Electric Boats, Pacific Electric Boat Rentals, and Electric Boat Rentals. If you’re looking to elevate your experience, Sea Señorita Duffy, a stylish, female-run business, curates luxury outings with optional skippers, curated coastal bites and photo-worthy decor.

Visit the Balboa Fun Zone

Yes, there is still fun in the Fun Zone. This coastal 90-year-old institution has an iconic Ferris wheel, a lively game arcade, a small nautical museum, and plenty of dining and shopping (including a Balboa Bar purveyor). Grab a slice of pizza, explore the quirky shops, and soak up the lively waterfront atmosphere that has entertained generations of families. You can even take a stroll down the Balboa Pier.

Postcard-Perfect Beaches

Our beaches stretch for miles and are among the finest in Southern California. After Labor Day weekend, the crowds are gone, and it’s easier to come out to play in the waves, play beach volleyball, or simply bask on the sand.

Newport Harbor

As the largest recreational harbor in America, Newport Harbor is the heart of the city’s coastal identity. Families can paddleboard, kayak, take Duffy boat rides, or simply stroll along the waterfront and take in the scenery. Some of the best harbor views are captured from Marina Park (and the Lighthouse Café) and Lido Marina Village, which offers the Little Lido Kids Club every other Thursday with children’s book readings and live music.
