Photos: First Look Inside Hoag’s Specialty Care Centers

After three years of construction, Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is preparing to open the final phase of its $1.2 billion Sun Family Campus next month.

The final phase adds two specialty care centers focused on women’s health and cancer and digestive health to the north end of the campus.

Hoag gave the Business Journal an exclusive preview to the two facilities prior to their opening on Sept. 17. Below is an inside look.

Waiting area within the comprehensive breast center, which will feature eight exam rooms, two consultation rooms, seven mammography suites, five ultrasound rooms, a biopsy ultrasound suite and an MRI suite.



The new women’s hospital will include a 17-bed NICU, a first for Hoag in Irvine, that’s also designed for twins.



The Cancer and Digestive Outpatient Pavilion



The Cancer & Digestive Health Pavilion counts six gastrointestinal (GI) suites with broadcast capabilities for educational purposes.



Infusion suites are co-located within a two-floor cancer center with clinic to deliver treatment for different types of cancer.



Hoag built a 24-hour urgent care for cancer patients, so immunocompromised patients don’t have to go to the general ER
