When Boot Barn moved its Irvine headquarters, the new space was a typical white-wall office building—enter Tara Miller, owner and lead designer at The Heartland Interior Design. Miller created a theme for each floor, the first being stone. “We wanted to lean into the stone theme and be in perfect alignment with the brand’s colors: black, off-white, and red,” Miller says. She considered the intention of the collaboration room and designed it so employees are facing each other, and the acoustics of the room are ideal for conversation. theheartlandinteriordesign.com
DRAPES
“We made them slightly longer than the wall, so they created a little puddle on the floor. This adds to the drama, drama, drama of the room.”
ARTWORK
“The artwork was from Boot Barn’s in-house photography team. … The black-and-white style supports the overall story of the room and doesn’t take over.”
RUG
“This is a custom Kyle Bunting rug, and we hand-selected each color. (It) can withstand being walked on even though it’s a true work of art.”
COUCH
“It’s a style that has been around for over 45 years and was originally designed in Switzerland. It’s composed of individual pieces that link together.”
COFFEE TABLE
“We wanted a live-edge coffee cookie slab table for the room because seeing the life rings of a tree truly shows age and heritage.”
CHANDELIER
“It plays the perfect supporting role in this room and still shines on its own. We opted for the bronze finish to give us the contrast we needed.”
