Hollywood’s little known porn star walk of fames

Along one of Los Angeles’ most iconic tourist attractions, the 18 block Hollywood Walk of Fame, a project launched in the 1950s, there’s another little-known monument dedicated to porn star luminaries who once worked in the shadows of the Hollywood studio system.

One of these “Porn Block of Fames” literally butts up against the Hollywood Walk of Fame outside Hustler Hollywood, a lingerie and sex-toy shop opened by the late founder of Hustler Magazine Larry Flint.

Sitting on the corner Hollywood and Schrader boulevards, the lesser-known porn walk of fame showcases the handprints of Larry and his brother Jimmy Flint, Marylin Chambers, Ginger Lynn and Jenna Jameson.

Outside of Hustler’s other store, located at 8873 Sunset Blvd., the handprints of porn stars Randy Spears and Nina Hartley can be seen. The store was originally located at 8920 Sunset Blvd. and reportedly featured more porn star handprints, though the property was purchased by Gwenyth Paltrow around 2016 and the shop was forced to move, according to The LAist.

A little more than a mile and a half away, at 7734 Santa Monica Blvd, home of the now defunct Pussycat Theater and later a short-lived club known as Studs, the handprints of “Deep Throat” star Linda Lovelace can be seen, as well as those of John Holmes, Harry Reem, Eric Edwards and Georgina, SFGATE reported.

Of note is that Lovelace, before her 2002 death, disavowed the notorious “Deep Throat” movie, publicly alleging that her husband at the time, Chuck Traynor, coerced and threatened her into participating in the film.

As for Ron Jeremy, who became something of a pop culture touchstone, appearing in numerous reality shows and portraying himself on an episode of the “Family Guy” cartoon series, as well as an appearance on “Chappelle Show” and Anthony Bourdain’s “No Reservations,” he was indicted in Aug. 2021 on 30 counts of sexual assault involving 21 women.

He was later found to be mentally unfit to stand trial in 2023 due to incurable cognitive decline and was released to a private residence to receive care.
