Since Taylor Swift concluded her highly successful Eras Tour at the end of 2024, she’s been slowly dropping Easter eggs that many speculated would be a documentary.
Then on Monday morning, the singer released a nearly two-minute trailer on social media.
“It was the End of an Era and we knew it. We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety,” the caption said.
The 14-time Grammy winner announced she’ll be releasing a six-part behind-the-scenes docuseries called “Taylor Swift, The Eras Tour.” It’s being described as an inside look at Swift’s life throughout the tour.
Additionally, she’ll be releasing a new concert film called “The Final Show,” which was filmed during her Eras Tour finale at BC Place in Vancouver, Canada. The show also included a set dedicated to her album “Tortured Poets Department.”
The film and the first two episodes of the docuseries will be released on Dec. 12, a day before her 36th birthday, on Disney+. From there, two episodes of the docuseries will air weekly for two weeks afterward.
Swift’s Eras Tour spanned from March 2023 to December 2024 and grossed over $2 billion, according to Taylor Swift Touring, reported by GMA.
