Britt Stewart and Baron Davis talk ‘DWTS’ double elimination

Professional dancer Britt Stewart and two-time NBA All-Star Baron Davis may not be returning to the “Dancing with the Stars” ballroom, but Davis wants to keep on dancing.

“Costume department, don’t come after him, but he stole his dance shoes last night,” Stewart revealed to KTLA 5’s Melvin Robert.

The duo appeared on the KTLA 5 Morning News just hours after they were sent home following Tuesday night’s double elimination. Corey Feldman and his partner Jenna Johnson were also eliminated.

“You’re kind of disappointed, right? Because you finally, I would say for me, you make the commitment, like, ‘Okay, I’m going to be doing this. I’m committed to it. I’m going to give it my all,'” the former Golden State Warriors star explained. “Nobody wants to be eliminated or voted off. So you’re just a little disappointed and feel like… ‘What could I have done better to advance?'”

While training the 6’3″ point guard was tough for Stewart because “he’s a lot to maneuver around the floor,” she’s “so proud of him.”

Tuesday night did have its bright spots. Davis reunited with his high school basketball coach Daryl Roper. The L.A. native attended Santa Monica’s Crossroads School.

“It was good to have him in the audience supporting, considering he’s been a huge part of my success here in L.A., and just growing as an adult male, he’s never left my side. So it was great having him in the building,” he said.

From the experience, the UCLA alum admitted he learned a lot, especially that he’s resilient and coachable. He’s also gained a new appreciation for the professionals who hit the floor daily.

“You’re doing, like, five-hour days, and then you’re waking up doing it again and doing it again. (What) I learned is a lot of respect for professional dancers in this world because they dance with confetti on the floor, they dance with water on the floor… It was a fascinating journey. It was quick for five weeks, but it was amazing to just see the community, the camaraderie and how other professionals who are experts at their craft, how they go about (it).”

The night also marked Stewart’s one-month wedding anniversary to husband Daniel Durant. The couple actually met during Season 31 of “DWTS” when they were partners.

“The day was just absolutely perfect. I want to relive it a million times again, and I’m just so excited about our future together,” she gushed about being a newlywed. “It was so beautiful. It feels like our ‘Dancing with the Stars’ fans, our family, they were so much a part of our beginning, the foundation of our relationship, and so we’re just beaming.”

Season 34 of “Dancing with the Stars” airs live on ABC and Disney+ every Tuesday and streams on Hulu the next day.

“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Jen Affleck, Hilaria Baldwin, Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles, influencer Alix Earle, Dylan Efron, Danielle Fishel, Elaine Hendrix and Scott Hoying of Pentatonix remain in the competition.
