MIRADOR
Tour is Coming to SoCal
September 22nd, 2025 by Bruce R. Kilgour
While the many fans of American rock band Greta Van Fleet have been kept waiting for new music – their last album “Starcatcher” was released in July of 2023 – there is an exciting new project featuring their guitarist Jake Kiszka that should please the majority of their following, the band is called Mirador.
They formed last year with Kiszka, and Chris Turpin, from the English alternative duo Ida Mae. Turpin and Kiszka first met back in 2018 when Ida Mae opened several Greta Van Fleet shows. Informal dressing room jam sessions during the tour eventually developed into song collaborations.

In a July music industry interview, Turpin revealed that Mirador is based in “a deep passion for rock’n’roll, early folk and country blues as well as folklore.” Kiszka added, “It’s two guitar players from notable groups coming together to create a new mythology. As soon as we were in uncharted territory, we knew we were doing something right.”
As for Kiszka, stepping out of Greta Van Fleet, one of the world’s biggest rock acts of the last decade, is likely to place him under some scrutiny by that band’s loyal fan base. He is rightfully regarded as one of the finest guitar players of his generation.
Since wrapping the 2023-2024 Starcatcher tour last August, Greta Van Fleet has been on a creative break, giving Kiszka and Turbin time to write a 12-track album, which was released last week. The LP was helmed by veteran producer Dave Cobb, a nine-time Grammy Award winner.
Mirador did a well-received eight-show club tour this past May, which included a show at the 500 capacity Troubadour that sold out in minutes.
The band began a 20-show North American tour on September 18th, which will include just three California stops.
Mirador will appear at the Fonda in Los Angeles and the Observatory San Diego on October 2nd and 3rd. Shows are selling out very quickly, so if old-school guitar riffs and soaring rock vocals are your thing, grab some tickets now!
