Rivian to Establish East Coast HQ

Rivian Automotive Inc. will add an east coast headquarters office in Atlanta to go with the manufacturing facility currently under construction.

The office is scheduled to open in late 2025 to be followed by further expansion in 2026 as the Atlanta site is built out.

“Rivian will occupy the top floor and lobby of Portman Holdings’ Junction Krog District building at 667 Auburn Ave NE,” the company said in a statement.

The HQ is expected to house 500 employees once complete, starting with about 100 people by the end of 2025. The manufacturing facility is slated to employ 7,500 people.

“They recognize the unmatched value of Georgia’s talent and the location of their East Coast Headquarters in Atlanta is the latest demonstration of their commitment to the Peach State,” Governor Brian Kemp said.

Mayor Andre Dickens added: “Atlanta continues to lead in EV innovation and technology integration, and Rivian’s growing presence here reinforces our city’s role in shaping our future economy.”

Shares of Rivian were up 4.9% to $13.53 during midday trading with a market cap of $16 billion (Nasdaq: RIVN).
