Los Angeles classic rock giant, KLOS is once again seeking your blood. It’s nothing creepy – just doing their usual thing of saving lives in SoCal!
On August 1st and 2nd, KLOS will once again partner with the Red Cross to obtain as many blood donations as possible in the Southland. The blood collected at the drive will “help treat kids battling cancer, accident victims being rushed to emergency rooms, individuals experiencing extreme sickle cell disease pain, and patients with complicated childbirths.”
Unfortunately, there is “a severe blood shortage as the number of trauma cases, organ transplants, and elective surgeries rise – and deplete the nation’s blood inventory.” In addition to hospital demand for blood for scheduled surgeries, hospitals are “responding to an atypically high number of traumas and emergency room visits.”
Blood is perishable and cannot be manufactured or stockpiled, and can only come from generous donors… like you! All you have to do is visit a SoCal Red Cross location, spend an hour donating blood, and you score a limited edition 2025 KLOS Blood Drive t-shirt – oh, and you’re a hero!
In its 44th year, the 95.5 KLOS Blood Drive has collected “nearly 200,000 units of blood products over the last four decades to help hospital patients of all ages. Accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, mothers experiencing difficulty during childbirth and those battling cancer are a few examples of hospital patients that depend on the generosity of blood donors to receive blood products.”
Find a donation center near you and sign up now on the KLOS website. Then roll up your sleeve and help patients in your area.
