Disneyland Resort will build a new parking structure with 6,000 spaces on the east side of the property, with construction starting in fall 2026.
This site is currently a cast member parking lot off Disney Way.
The project includes a new pedestrian bridge over Harbor Blvd., connecting the parking and transportation hub to a new “esplanade arrival experience,” Disneyland President Thomas Mazloum revealed during a Thursday night media event held at Disney California Adventure.
“We’re incredibly excited about this project and what it means for us, because essentially, this is what unlocks DisneylandForward,” Mazloum said of the multi-year plan to build new attractions, hotels and parking within the Disneyland Resort.
A new ride based off the Pixar Studios film “Coco” will be placed near Pixar Pier and Paradise Gardens Park taking over what is currently backstage area. Construction will start this fall.
A new themed area based off director James Cameron’s “Avatar” films is also coming to California Adventure in a portion of the Hollywood Backlot area of the park replacing what is currently an attraction called Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!
Mazloum also said that the expansion of Avengers Campus, which will double the size of the current area, has already broken ground.
