WHY: Runs Irvine-based company that makes an assortment of long-range unmanned drones and aircraft primarily for military uses, as well as Dronebusters anti-drone devices. Major customers include the U.S. military as well as overseas buyers.
IN THE NEWS: Graduated from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. Resume includes stint as chief engineer at Swift Engineering. Founded Dzyne in 2021. Dronebusters are manufactured in Portland, Oregon, while the company’s airborne systems are manufactured in Irvine. It also has offices in Boise, Idaho.
NOTABLE: The company last year moved into a 125K-square-foot facility in the Irvine Spectrum area as it seeks more Defense Department contracts. In August, Dzyne announced the addition of retired Vice Admiral Collin Green as chief strategy officer. Christopher Miller joined Dzyne in August of 2023 as head of defense initiatives. Miller had previously served as a U.S. Army Special Forces officer, director of the National Counterterrorism Center and acting U.S. Secretary of Defense at the end of the first Trump presidential administration.
