After eight great years at Santiago High School, Matt Moorhouse has resigned as head boys basketball coach to join new Crean Lutheran head coach Austin Loeb as an assistant coach, Loeb confirmed this week.
Moorhouse led the Cavaliers to their first CIF boys basketball title in March. Santiago defeated Ramona 64-49 at the Toyota Arena in Ontario in the CIF 4AA championship game.
Moorhouse said, “I was truly supported by the district and administration (at Santiago), the opportunity at Crean Lutheran felt like the right next step. Winning the school’s first-ever CIF championship is a memory I’ll always remember. Crean {Lutheran] feels like a great place to be, and I’m excited to be part of it.
“The support was unbelievable and GGUSD is a great place to coach.”
Loeb was named last month as the Saints new head coach.
