A 5,741-square-foot house on 0.44 acres with four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms in Corona del Mar is off the market.
The house at 1615 Bayadere Terrace sold for $20 million on April 11, according to Homes.com and Redfin, making it one of Orange County’s most expensive residential sales of the year.
Casey Lesher of Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California listed the property and represented the seller. The buyer was represented by Heather Kidder of Arbor Real Estate.
The single-level house was built in 1958, sits on a 19,100-square-foot lot and sold for 9% below list price. On-site amenities include a dry bar, home gym, outdoor grill, pool and three-car garage. The property boasts an ocean view and proximity to a golf course.
The house was listed for sale in February.
Lesher said the house was listed for $22 million because it “was a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
The agent added the luxury residential market has been off to a strong start, but buyers are buying “special properties” and avoiding older houses, hoping for interest rates to drop.
Lesher also pointed out newer houses are selling, while buyers are avoiding older properties, in general. Homeowners are also sitting on houses that have 2% or 3% mortgage rates.
Bayadere Terrace, meanwhile, is one of the most desirable streets in Corona del Mar, according to Lesher—making 1615 Bayadere Terrace a “special property.”
Las Vegas Residential Brokerage Expanding to NB
IS Luxury, a Las Vegas-based real estate brokerage that’s closed nearly $2 billion in sales in the past three years, is expanding its practice into Orange County.
The brokerage’s first-ever location outside of Nevada will have a Fashion Island address: 800 Newport Center Drive, Suite 150. The building is known as Pacific Financial Plaza I.
The Newport Beach office will have 11 agents and be led by industry veteran Christi Carrillo.
IS Luxury said its Orange County agents would “represent the region’s most coveted coastal properties.” The company specifically hopes to represent buyers and sellers looking for homes in Corona del Mar, Crystal Cove, Laguna Beach, Monarch Beach and Newport Beach.
Carrillo, according to her LinkedIn page, has more than 19 years of experience in Southern California real estate, including two years in Newport Beach as growth manager at Douglas Elliman Real Estate, which is known for high-end homes. Carrillo also served on the board of directors for Palos Verdes Board of Realtors.
