Scott Pasternak New Head of Tri Pointe Homes SoCal

A national homebuilder with a significant presence and operation in Orange County announced a leadership change this week.

Tom Grable, Southern California division president of Nevada-based Tri Pointe Homes Inc., has retired and is being succeeded by Scott Pasternak.

Pasternak, who has 27 years of industry experience with a background in development, finance, land acquisition and operations, will take over the homebuilder’s operations in Irvine, where Tri Pointe has 122 employees. He joined Tri Pointe in 2015 as the company’s vice president of finance.

Pasternak previously held leadership positions with Ryland Homes and PulteGroup. His career started at Ernst & Young, where Pasternak was a CPA and auditor. Pasternak, a graduate of Albion College in Michigan, also sits on the board of directors for the Building Industry Association of Southern California’s Orange County chapter.

Grable joined Tri Pointe in 2010 as the homebuilder’s vice president of project management. He was promoted to Tri Pointe’s division president for Los Angeles and Orange County in 2014. He is a graduate of California State University at Fullerton and previously worked at William Lyon Homes, Beazer Homes and Watt Homes.

Tri Pointe’s Orange County operations are based at 5 Peters Canyon Road, Suite 100 in Irvine. The company ranked seventh on the Business Journal’s most recent list of top homebuilders in Orange County. Tri Pointe sold 95 houses in Orange County last year.

The publicly traded company (NYSE: TPH) operates in 12 states and Washington, D.C.
